The Kids ARE Asleep
Now there’s time to share the good stuff — the shoots I loved, the art that stuck, and the work that didn’t make it to Instagram.
Night time Is the Right Time
A creative photography blog written by a mom of two wild kids, a majestic cat named Chicken, a pug we call Prize Pig, and a dog named Jeff. Also a wife. Also tired. But still making art.
Let’s Work Together
Whether you need scroll-stopping visuals, a drone’s-eye view, or something that just feels right — I’m here for the story, the light, and the real stuff in between.

BIO
Amber Boutwell is a published Denver photographer who loves capturing nature, food and architecture. She shoots with natural light but has a deep love for dark skies. When she’s not on mountaintops chasing the Milky Way, she’s in kitchens taste testing treats and managing toddler bedtime routines. She’s been known to quote Joe Pesci, over-kiss cats, and enthusiastically grunt eat cheese.
What I See. What I Make.
I photograph food, spaces, people, and places — from the air or on the ground — with an eye for story and detail.

Not Just Pretty — Purposeful.
Whether it’s a drone pass over a new build, styled food ready for press, or a headshot that actually feels like you — I shoot with intention. My goal is to make visual content that’s not just beautiful, but useful. If it’s not working for you, it’s not working.

The image that cuts through all the performance and lands…

Introduction: From the bustling kitchens of Denver to the quaint eateries in Boulder, Colorado’s cuColorado’s food scene is full of color, texture, and personality — but getting it to look as good as it tastes? That takes a few key tools. Whether I’m shooting for a restaurant, a chef, or editorial work, these are the…
